ON GOING PROJECTS

1
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Observatory Big Telescope Project
It is aimed to make mainly spectroscopic observations and serve scientific institutes in Marmara Region with 1.2-m telescope which is planned to be located at the Ulupınar Observatory of Çanakkale Astrophysics Research Center. The Project is supported by the State Planning Organization.

2
Simulteneous Multiwavelenght ("Radio, X-Ray and Optical) Observations of Solar Type Stars”

This is an international program aiming to understand photosphere, chromosphere, the coronal structure, magnetic field, period decrease processes and evolution of the solar type stars. For simultaneous observations of selected target stars in radio (Australia Radio Telescope and American VLA Telescopes) X-Ray (XMM stellite) and optical wavelengths (COMU-UPO and ROTSE-Turkey) are cooperating for the program.

3
"Observations of Small Bodies in the Solar System”

This is project supported by UNESCO among Balkan Countries standing 2005. Also known as ROSTE program, it aims to observe asteroids, comet and other small objects of solar system in coorperation with the observatories in South Eastern Europe and Ukraine

4
"Photometric Observations of Asteroids at COMU Observatory"

It is planned to direct new researchers to different fields of astrophysics and strengthen the variaties in scientific platform. The Project is supported by TUBITAK.

5
“Study of Activity in Chromosphere and Photosphere of Long-period RS CVn-type binary Stars”

It is aimed to determine the magnetic activity in chromosphere and photosphere as a function of stellar parameters by photometric and spectroscopic observations. The Project is supported by TUBITAK.

6
“A detailed investigation of the relation between dark energy and plasma which is formed in early universe”

It is aimed to study (for the first time) the sicim, domain wall and kuark gluon together, which were formed during phase transition in early universe, and the relation between them. The project is supported by TUBITAK.

7
”Radio Net Europan Union 6. Frame Work Project ”

This is a program which aims to establish a network of radio astronomy groups and observatories in Europa. Turkey is represented by COMU-ARC in the network.

8
"Meteorite Craters Inventory of Turkey"

This program supported by TUBITAK aims to accumulate information about the meteorites and meteor craters in Turkey by using remote sensing satellite images. In situ measurements are also included in the program for ground truthing and testing the findings.

9
"Nature of Galaxies in Abell Galaxy Clusters"

It is aimed to understand the galaxies' structures in Abell Galaxy Clusters by analyzin their X-ray observations. The Project is supported by TUBITAK.

10
"Determination of Relations between Space-Time Curvature Symmetries and Other Geometric Symmetries"

With this TUBITAK supported Project, it is aimed to investigate the relations between matter symmetries, which cause space-time a curvature, and geometry symmetries.

11
Asymmetry in Envelopes of Be- Stars

Charles Universitesi (Çek Cum.) ile birlikte Be-yıldızları alanında doktora öğrencisi yetiştirmeye yönelik NATO Araştırma Projesidir.

12
Robotic Optical Transient Search Experiment

(ROTSE) Project: It is a project coordinated by the Univ. of Michigan and National Observatory of Turkey (TUG). The project is finansed by NASA.

13
Catalogue of Choromsphericaly Active Binary Stars

It is aimed to construct the catalogue of choromsphericaly active binary stars. The project is supported by TUBITAK. Three students are doing their thesis in the frame of this subject.

14
Simultaneous observations of Solar like stars in X-ray, optic and radio domain

It is aimed to study the structures of photosphere, chromosphere, corona, magnetic fields of Solar like stars. The project is granted by TUBİTAK and National Observatory of New Zealand.
